To,
The President/Secretary,
Staff Association

Subject:  Workshop on 200 Point Roster and issues involving its application in the colleges.

Dear Colleague,

As you are aware that modalities decided by the University to implement 200 Point Roster violates the UGC guidelines, 2006, and reservation policy of GOI. This has consequently created enormous confusion as the rosters prepared by the colleges are at variance with UGC guidelines on the matter. DUTA, in this light, has decided to hold a workshop on 200 Point Roster to work out the correct roster as per UGC Guidelines and GOI policy, and to highlight the arbitrariness, the severe disparities arising between departments and great hardship to all categories of ad-hoc teachers who are getting displaced  if the university “alphabetical” version is followed.

You are requested to kindly intimate and request the liaison officer of your college to participate in the aforesaid workshop. It is important that the President,  Secretary of Staff Association also participate in the workshop as the Staff Associations will have to ensure correct implementation of 200 Point Roster. Teacher-in-Charges and other teachers from the college may also attend.  Workshops will be held on 25th and 26th November at 2 P.M. in the DUTA office. We will discuss the roster for KM College and Maitreyi College as examples, since the data for these two colleges is available with us.

Kindly also send the following information to DUTA at the earliest as it will help in working out a correct roster for every college.

  1. List of all permanent teachers as on 2/07/1997 in order of seniority with date of joining and department/subject.
  2. List of all teachers who joined the college in permanent capacity after 2.7.97 with date of joining, department and category.
  3. Number of vacancies under sanctioned permanent posts in each subject/ department.

Alternatively, you can send us the university approved roster for your college from which we can extract the above information

We are also enclosing a copy of page 1 and 2 of the recent University Notification regarding decisions of the EC of 17.8.13. You are requested to recalculate the workload of teachers and number of posts on the basis of 14 hours for Associate Professors and 16 hours for Assistant Professors.

With regards,
Nandita Narain
