DUSU office bearers and DUTA decided to launch a joint struggle for restoration of revaluation of answer sheets and special chance to those students who owing to the unavoidable circumstances could not complete their degree in stipulated time frame. The provision of supplementary examinations had been scrapped by this VC a year ago in a most undemocratic manner adversely affecting the career of thousands of students in the University. The DUSU has also decided to take up the demand of students’ representation in the Academic Council, a statutory provision this VC has been refusing to implement. Pravesh Malik (DUSU Secy) spoke extensively about the declining academic standards in the university owing to large number of ad-hoc teachers in the colleges.
DUTA office bearers expressed their resolve to continue their struggle for permanent appointment in accordance with the correct 200 point roster. The issue of the white paper released by DUTA also came up during discussion and both DUSU and DUTA agreed that it will not be possible to restore rule of law in the university as long as this Vice-Chancellor is in the seat. Both the bodies have decided to launch a joint struggle, taking along DUCKU, for removal of the Vice-Chancellor.
