Over 100 undergraduate courses based on CBCS will be tabled in the meeting of the Academic Council and the Executive Council scheduled for 13 July and 14 July respectively and subsequently in the Court Meeting scheduled on 14 July at 2:00 pm.

In order to escalate its opposition to the implementation of CBCS in the University, the DUTA held its Executive meeting today where it was unanimously decided to hold continuous dharna outside the VC’s Office starting from 13 July 2015, 8 am onwards. (See poster)

Following the decision, twenty three elected AC and two elected EC members have written to the VC today to express their opposition. They have urged the Vice-Chancellor to communicate to the HRD Ministry and the UGC that the University is in no position to implement CBCS from the academic session 2015-16. (Letter attached)

Further, the DUTA shall appeal to all students’ groups to join the protest programme.

The Standing Committee on Academics Matters of the Academic Council is meeting today to scrutinize the CBCS courses. The meeting is still continuing. Seven out of eight elected Academic Council Members are dissenting on the matter.
