DUTA Press Release, 15.06.2016

The DUTA expresses its shock at the violent assault against our colleague, Dr. Vineet Mehta from SRCC, by the President of DUSU, Satyender Awana and others accompanying him, on the afternoon of 13th June, 2016. The DUTA expresses its indignation against this culture of violence and growing attacks against teachers in campuses. That student leaders can take recourse to such violent acts to get their demands accepted is a serious matter and demands universal condemnation. The DUTA expresses its solidarity with the colleague who was assaulted while at work and demands the strictest possible action by the police and the university authorities against the culprits so that such incidents do not find any space in university campuses.
