Subject: Appeal for resolution of issues
Dear Professor Tyagi,
We wish to inform you that the DUTA GBM on 13 June 2018 has decided to continue the Evaluation Boycott by adopting resolutions in favour of boycott. The DUTA GBM has categorically demanded that the UGC’s Roster Notification of 5th March must be put in abeyance to ensure that no working ad-hoc or temporary teacher is displaced in the new academic session. It has also demanded the immediate notification of revised allowances for teachers and karamcharis as per 7 CPC.
The DUTA General Body noted with dismay that despite several representations and action programmes, there are no visible steps taken by your Office to resolve issues related to the counting of past services for promotions and absorption/regularisation of all ad-hoc and temporary teachers. We urge you once again for an appointment for a DUTA delegation. It is important that the crisis is ended through dialogue.
Further, the letter of the Dean, Examinations dated 14.06.2018 singles out ad-hoc and guest teachers. We find it unacceptable and extremely unfortunate. The University should refrain from using pressure tactics and targeting the most vulnerable section. The crisis in the University can be resolved only through dialogue.
