Sub: Regarding Retirement Gratuity and Death Gratuity under NPS

Dear Prof. Singh,

Please refer to your 11th May 2017 letter to the universities regarding the withdrawal of the Retirement Gratuity and the Death Gratuity under NPS. We understand that this letter was in response to the MHRD letters No. F.19-32/2017-CU.Cdn dated 18.04.2017 and No. F.19-1/2017-IFD dated 12.04.2017.

The withdrawal of the Retirement Gratuity and the Death Gratuity has caused massive hardship and huge loss to families of affected teachers. We appeal to you to intervene in this matter and facilitate the restoration of both these gratuities to teachers under NPS.
