DUTA Letter to Registrar, 10.01.2019
To
Professor Tarun Kumar Das
Registrar
University of Delhi
Delhi 110007
10.01.2019
Dear Professor Das,
It has been brought to our notice that a letter (email) dated 10 Jan 2019 (12:15 am) from the Deputy Registrar Academic has directed Colleges to provide a complete list of voters for the forthcoming AC and EC elections. It has directed Colleges to send these names along with an undertaking/declaration duly signed by the Principal and forwarded by the Chairperson/Member Governing Body latest by 4 pm on 10.01.2019.
These last minute instructions have caused havoc in Colleges and many Colleges are finding it difficult to meet the deadline and unnecessary requirement of getting signatures of the Chairman/Members Governing Body.
This is an unnecessary requirement and a declaration signed by the Principal should be considered enough, as was always done.
The procedure for holding elections to the Statutory Bodies is well laid down in the Statues. This last minute deviation in the procedure shows the non-seriousness of the University in conducting elections and a disregard for Statutes and Ordinances.
These instructions have no precedence, are uncalled for, undermine the office of the Principal and are bureaucratic forms of harrassment lacking in any substance.
We request your intervention on urgent basis for smooth and regular election process.
Thanking you
Regards
Rajib Ray President, DUTA Vivek Chaudhary Secretary, DUTA |
