Sub: Non payment of salaries and arrears of 7th CPC to teachers of Gargi College
Dear Madam,
It has come to our notice that salaries have not been paid to any members of the teaching staff in Gargi College for the month of February 2019. We have also learned that arrears due to the 7th CPC have not been paid to ad hoc members of the teaching community whereas arrears to all permanent teachers have been paid nearly a year ago in 2018. Further, ad hoc teachers have not been given winter pay for the vacation period of December 16-31, 2018.
DUTA delegations have already met with you thrice till now regarding release of arrears to ad hoc colleagues, but regrettably, your assurances regarding immediate release of arrears have not been fulfilled in the interim.
We learn that winter and summer pay is routinely paid late in Gargi college and this is also a matter of great concern.
We request you to kindly expedite the payment of salaries, vacation salaries and arrears to all concerned parties.
We request you to ensure that summer and winter salaries are paid respectively on July 31 and no later than December 31 in the respective summer and winter terms.
It is a matter of great concern and urgency that teachers have to wait for the wages they have earned and which are their due. This is a matter of daily livelihood and dignity of labour is compromised repeatedly by such delays in payment, be these of arrears or vacation pay to ad hoc teachers, or be it the delay of salary payment by over 11 days as the matter stands today. We request you to take a compassionate view of these matters and to transparently and urgently do the needful to release what is owed.
Regards,
