10 July 2019 Sub: Representations on salary recovery effected against colleagues by the University Dear Colleague, You would be aware that the DUTA has already taken cognizance of the letters of salary recovery issued to colleagues across colleges and departments. It is really shocking that the benefits given to teachers under earlier pay revisions are being taken away. In almost all the cases, recoveries have either started and/or the pay fixation of affected colleagues has been kept in abeyance. The DUTA has already held several meetings with affected colleagues. Letters have been sent to the Vice-Chancellor and the matter was also highlighted through protest action programmes. The DUTA Office Bearers also discussed the matter with the Vice-Chancellor. However, as in most other cases, the University has neither responded nor taken any action in favour of its employees. The DUTA believes that there is an urgent need to collate all the documentation in the form of representations and relevant papers and information, including Governing Body decisions or remarks, if any, of all individual cases. We request you to immediately forward the details of all the cases in your college by 16th July 2019 so that the DUTA can pursue the same more effectively. We hope for your active cooperation in communicating the urgency to affected colleagues and ensuring that their representations reach the DUTA office in time.
