Dear colleagues,
The DUTA Executive held on 16.11.2019 decided to take forward the struggle. The 28 August DU letter has created grave situation by increasing uncertainties for our colleagues working on ad-hoc basis and causing collapse of teaching across colleges/depts on the other hand. Many teachers in the Department were denied joining by the University, even when they were hired through due processes by Departments this semester.
The illegal DU letter of 28 August, displacement of ad-hoc teachers on account of EWS reservation, delayed promotions resulting in stagnation for last 10 years, illegal recoveries, assault on service conditions of Physical Education teachers and denial of pension need immediate resolution. We can’t wait any longer!
The DUTA Executive resolved to demand resolution of these issues through major action programmes, while continuing to oppose the NEP which threatens to irrevocably change the character of higher education in the country through mass outreach programmes and also pursue the demand for a one time Regulation for the absorption of adhoc and temporary teachers.
Please find enclosed the Resolution of the DUTA Executive of 16.11.2019. – LINK
We appeal to Staff Associations to hold meetings on an urgent basis and send their feedback and further suggestions by 22 November. We also request Staff Associations to remain vigilant and inform DUTA in case services of ad-hoc teachers are not renewed/extended, guest appointments are made against substantive posts and adhocs are displaced because of EWS reservation.
The Extended DUTA Executive of 23 November will discuss feedback and prepare for the GBM of 25 November. The venue and timing of the DUTA GBM will be notified shortly.
In solidarity
