Sub: Regarding Arrangement of Cashless Treatment of COVID-19 for Delhi University Employees at Designated Private COVID-19 Hospitals
Dear Prof. Tyagi,
As you are aware, the Delhi Government has designated certain private hospitals for COVID-19 treatment in order to meet the demand of the rising number of cases in Delhi.
In such a health emergency situation, we request you to take proactive steps, in consultation with all such designated private hospitals, to arrange for cashless treatment for employees of Delhi University, diagnosed with COVID-19 and requiring medical attention. We wish to bring to your attention that even those hospitals that provide cashless facility for other ailments are not doing so for treatment of COVID-19. This is unfair and is cause for huge strain on the financial resources of employees.
As we all know, a few employees of Delhi University have already been diagnosed with COVID-19. In this unprecedented health crisis, it will be a source of great strength if the university intervenes in the benefit of the welfare of its employees. It will also assist in disease management and containment. Cashless facility will ensure that the costs of medical treatment do not prevent immediate and speedy containment of disease.
Looking forward to your intervention at the earliest,
