Subject: Appeal to mobilize and join protest programme on 11 July

Dear colleagues,

As you know, the 12 colleges 100% funded by Delhi Government are facing crisis for last several months as the grants to them are repeatedly delayed and are woefully insufficient to meet the requirements to pay salaries, pension and other dues to all employees including reimbursements and arrears due to employees on account of the 7th Pay Revision. Few colleges have not been able to pay salaries even for the month of May. This has created hardship for teaching and non-teaching staff.

The colleges have also not received grants for infrastructure development and maintenance and additional posts for new courses and EWS.

The DUTA has repeatedly written to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister on the matter. In order to draw attention to the issue, the DUTA will organise a Hunger Strike on Saturday, 11 July from 9 am to 9 pm. Teachers will post their protest photos on social media including FaceBook and Twitter,

We appeal to Staff Associations to mobilise for the protest and join in large numbers

Please email protest photos and share them on FB and Twitter with the hashtags as suggested in the poster.

Please find the poster of the programme attached.

In solidarity

Rajib Ray
President, DUTA

Rajinder Singh
Secretary, DUTA
