The petitioner, who is visually impaired, seeks quashing of the decision taken by respondent no.1 i.e., the University Grants Commission (hereinafter referred to as UGC) whereby, the exemption granted in his favour from taking the National Eligibility Test (in short NET), was withdrawn. A consequential direction is also sought for re-instatement to the post of Lecturer (English) on a permanent basis, with the necessary benefits.
