Dear colleagues,

We salute Staff Associations for making protest rallies of 31 January 2019 and 5 February 2019 successful. We request Staff Associations to mobilise, organise and participate in the following action programmes the following days:

12 February 2019, Strike and Protest at the VC: The DUTA will observe a one-day Strike on 12 February 2019 against the DU Vice-Chancellor’s inaction. The Strike will be accompanied by a massive Protest outside the VC Office to press forward the demand for reconvening the adjourned EC Meeting to pass the Ordinances pertaining to Career Advancement and Promotions, restoring Physical Education in the list of disciplines, dropping the clause on contract appointments and re-employment, concretization of a provision of maternity leave for ad-hoc teachers, clearing of pending cases of promotions, a stop to the illegal recoveries against teachers and the demand for immediate disbursal of pensions for the non-litigant categories.

13 – 14 February, Student-Mobilisation Programme: For intensification of DUTA Agitations on all its core demands and in preparation for the National Save Education Rally of the Joint Forum for Movement on Education (JFME) formed at the initiative of DUTA, FEDCUTA and AIFUCTO, on 19th February 2019, the DUTA calls for Student-Mobilisation Programmes on 13 February and 14 February. Staff Associations are requested to finalise the format of this action programme in order to make it effective in their respective colleges. Staff Associations shall observe class suspension for two hours in which they shall organise meetings with students and student-teacher protest dharna in colleges/ college gates/ Human Chain at the College Gate.  DUTA teams will move from college to college to mobilize students under the aegis of Staff Associations.

15 February, DUTA GBM to review the situation and adopt the its further programme of action at 12:30 pm, Auditorium, Hansraj College. Classes will remain suspended from 11:30 am.

Staff Associations are requested to circulate posters of action programmes widely.
