Sub:    Celebrating 50 years of the DUTA: A Movement, on 11th December, 2017

Dear Sir/Madam,
We are glad to inform you that the Delhi University Teachers’ Association is going to commemorate 50 years of its history this year. DUTA was formed in 1957 with the adoption of its constitution, however, it was only in 1967 that the first duly elected DUTA was formed with the election of its President and the Executive Committee. That was undoubtedly an important moment in making the DUTA into a truly representative body of the teachers of Delhi University. The DUTA will celebrate the 50th anniversary of that historic moment on 11 December, 2017.
We are organising a full day event with participation by all former DUTA Presidents who are still with us. Among others, Shri O. P. Kohli, the Governor of Gujarat, has kindly agreed to grace the occasion. Shri O. P. Kohli served as DUTA President for two terms:  1973-75 and 1977-79.
We warmly invite you to join us for the day. We are holding this event at the Delhi University Conference Centre. The event will start at 9:30 AM and continue till 5:00 PM. The day long event will have panel discussions on issues and challenges of Higher Education. Lunch and tea will be served.
