Sub: Release of Grant for payment of pension to Category 3 employees of Delhi University

Dear Prof Chauhan,      
       
I attach a copy of DU Notifications dated 4.7.2017 and 10.8.2017 regarding implementation of judgment of Hon’ble High Court dated 24.8.2016 for Category 3 of employees.

In this regard, several colleges have written to the UGC for grant of funds in order to implement the release of pension for retired employees belonging to Category 3.

The release of pension has been held up pending a reply from the UGC.

We appeal to you to look into the matter and have the appropriate grant released so that our retired employees get their due at the earliest. As it is, an inordinate delay in implementation of the judgment has caused severe financial hardship and trauma to them. Many have lost their lives while waiting for their pension, which is after all their right.

Any further delay would be a contempt of not only the Hon’ble High Court judgment, but also of the most basic human values.
