Dear colleagues,

We salute colleagues for making the three days Strike (16-18 September) successful. 

While the Delhi Government has released grants for salaries of employees of 6 Colleges, there is no sign of relief for the remaining colleges. Further, the grants released to the six Colleges are inadequate to cover salaries for all the months and pending dues.

In continuation to our protest against stopping of salaries and grants by the Delhi Government to the 12 DU Colleges that are 100% funded by it, the DUTA will observe a week long protest. 

Rolling Cluster-wise Strike (28 Sep – 1 Oct, 2020): Teachers of the cluster will be on Strike as per the schedule given in the DUTA poster. Teachers will boycott classes and Official work on the assigned day. Teachers will share protest photo on FB, Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #DelhiGovtReleaseGrants.

Satyagraha (2 October, 2020), a common protest programme for all: Teachers will observe hunger strike from 9 am to 5 pm and share protest photos. 

Delhi Government has set a dangerous precedence by stopping salaries of employees.This is unacceptable to the DUTA. 

Such arm twisting tactics and attack on rights of employees by authorities and Governments have to resisted unitedly.

Further, the press statements given by Deputy Chief Minister on 16 September regarding students’ funds are  unacceptable to the DUTA. The DUTA has always defended public character of DU and its colleges.

We appeal the Staff Associations to mobilize for the action programmes and ensure total Strike in their units. Please find  the poster attached for circulation.
