Dear Friends,

The DUTA Executive met on 24 September 2019 and discussed ways to carry forward the movement to press for the key demands facing the teachers of Delhi University. The Executive has decided upon the following action programmes for the month of October.

1) Protest Delhi Govt Stoppage of Grants, 27 September, Friday, 1-3 pm, Vidhan Sabha: To demand release of salaries and grants, additional posts towards EWS reservation and new courses. Classes will remain suspended after 12 noon.

2) Candle Light Vigil, 1 Oct, Tuesday, 4:30 pm, Mandi House: To press for the demands including one-time Regulation for Absorption, Removal of VC, Adequate grants for EWS expansion, Arrears of 7 CPC, Resolution of the anomalies of the 7 CPC, Resolution of Stepping up cases, Withdrawal of SLP against pension cases, Concordance Table and Arrears for Pensioners, Roll-back of NEP 2019.

3) Halla-Bol: One Day Strike and Rally on Campus, 3 October, Thursday Assemble at Arts Faculty at 11 am, burning of 28 Aug DU circular. To demand immediate withdrawal of 28 Aug DU letter, Review of Selection Committee for guest appointment, Counting of past services for promotions, Processing of Promotion cases, Restoration of MPhil-PhD increments, Stopping illegal recoveries, Stopping victimization of Physical Education teachers, Inclusion of Physical Education subject in the Roster, Processing of pension cases, Release of 7CPC salaries and arrears for ad-hoc teachers, Release of 7CPC arrears and pensions.

4) Strike, Shiksha-Shikshak Bachao Rally from Mandi House to Parliament Street: 16 Oct, Wednesday, 11 am onwards: To once again highlight our demands with MHRD, especially the issue of absorption. DUTA will mobilise Teachers’ Associations and Students’ Associations and organizations and Leaders of political parties to join the Rally.

5) College-wise Student-teacher protest programmes; 22-23-24 Oct: Programmes across colleges to mobilise opinion and garner support for the ongoing DUTA movement for absorption, promotion and other issues and to make students and teachers  aware about NEP 2019 and their ramifications for public funded higher education and DU.

6) The DUTA will organize a National Convention on NEP in the month of December 2019. Details of the same will be notified later.

The DUTA Office Bearers will also explore the possibility of organizing a Press Conference on the issue of Absorption during the mid-semester Break.
