DUTA holds Joint Dharna at MHRD with DUCKU and students
Teachers, students and karmachris of Delhi University gathered in large numbers at the DUTA dharna at Jantar Mantar today. The dharna was held to demand the removal of Prof Dinesh Singh from the office of Vice-Chancellor, institution of Visitorial Inquiry into misgovernance and irregularities, Reversal of vindictive measures by him against teachers in the matters of Pension and Promotions and starting of regular permanent recruitment for the 4700 vacant teaching posts with correct Reservation Roster.
A delegation of DUTA office bearers and the DUCKU General Secretary met the HRD minister Smt. Smriti Irani and submitted a detailed Memorandum to her. The DUTA President expressed concern about the fact that despite being thoroughly discredited, Dinesh Singh has been put on important Government-appointed committees on Higher Education.
She responded positively and promised to give serious consideration to all the issues raised in the memorandum. In particular, she emphasized the determination of the Ministry to expedite the process of making permanent appointment of teachers and non-teaching staff.
