The Delhi University administration has decreed that the security guards employed by the University will do their duty without the aid of a single chair. For the past couple of days, security guards have made to keep standing for the entire duration of their eight-hour shift, in barbaric contravention of labour laws. All the guard-rooms have been sealed and the furniture has been made inaccessible. No reason for this decision has been conveyed to them. Whatever the reason may be, such a cruel situation cannot be allowed to prevail in a university.

The DUTA demands that the administration should immediately withdraw this feudal decree so that the guards are enabled to perform their duties in a humane environment.

पिछले दो दिनों से दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय परिसर के द्वारों पर तैनात सुरक्षाकर्मियों के बैठने के कमरों को बंद कर दिया गया है तथा वहां से उनके बैठने की कुर्सियों एवं मेज को हटा लिया गया है। अब सारे सुरक्षाकर्मी अपने काम के दौरान खड़े रहने के लिए अभिशप्त हैं। ऐसा कदम क्यों उठाया गया है, इसकी पुष्टि करने के लिए विश्वविद्यालया प्रशासन का कोई भी अधिकारी तैयार नहीं है। वस्तुतः इस प्रकार का कदम किसी भी संस्थान के लिए, खासकर एक शैक्षणिक संस्थान के लिए अत्यंत अमानवीय और बर्बर है।

दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय शिक्षक संघ ऐसे अमानवीय एवं बर्बर फरमान की कड़े शब्दों में निदा करता है और इसतरह के फरमान को शीघ्र वापस लेने की मांग करता है।
