On the judgment of the Hon’ble High Court in the CPF to GPF case

The Delhi University Teachers’ Association welcomes the judgment of the Hon’ble High Court in the CPF to GPF case, , which has brought relief to several hundred  teachers of Delhi University by holding them eligible for pension. The DUTA will write to the UGC for early implementation of the pension scheme especially for the teachers who have retired in the meantime and have not been getting any pension.
In the case of the teachers who have not got any relief from the Hon’ble Court in this matter, the DUTA will appeal to the UGC/MHRD to take a humanitarian view of the matter, and grant a one-time option to them. The financial implication will be negligible since it is a small number of persons and the amount accumulated in their CPF account would be returned and could be used to make the payment for pension.
The DUTA congratulates the teachers for a long and arduous legal battle to get what was due to them. It resolves to stand by all teachers, including those who were appointed after 2004, in the struggle for a proper pension scheme and retirement benefits.
